석면은 국제보건기구(WHO) 산하 국제암연구소(IARC)에서 규정한 발암물질 1군(Group 1)으로 흡입하면 10∼50년 후 폐암, 악성중피종, 석면폐증 등의 심각한 질병을 발생시킵니다.
이에, 환경부와 부산광역시에서는 석면피해의심지역(석면공장, 노후 슬레이트 밀집지역, (수리)조선소) 인근 주민을 대상으로 석면 관련 무료 건강검진을 실시하고 있으니, 붙임의 일정을 참조하여 많은 참여를 바랍니다.
